You and Your Friends
Peach Pit's second full-length album sees the band more confidently exploring their sound after the success of Being So Normal back in 2018. You and Your Friends is at it's core a breakup album, and thematically seeks to capture the arc of heartbreak throughout the 12 composite tracks. Neil Smith's impassioned vocals wash over 40 minutes of indie rock anthems and head nodding riffs, XYZ. At a high level, You and Your Friends sounds like a tribute to the social connections lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as we all deal with our newfound lost connections and social isolation.
The track Camilla I'm Home captures this feeling best, as Smith sings:
"Oh Camilla, you don't understand I haven't left my room / In a couple days, even though you might think that I'd want to"
